Spooky Season Has Arrived in Fitchburg
The winds of October have begun to whisper, and in Fitchburg, that means one thing: the annual transformation of neighborhoods into eerie, enchanting scenes of Halloween fun. Lifelong resident Amy Descarreaux is at the forefront of this festive frenzy, having adorned her home at 1034 Rindge Rd. with an elaborate Halloween display that promises to thrill children and adults alike. This year, the decorations will come to life for two evenings of community celebration and trick-or-treating on October 25 and 26, from 5 to 9 p.m..
An impressive Halloween display sets the mood in Fitchburg.
In addition to Descarreaux’s impressive setup, the excitement doesn’t stop there! The charming town of Leominster has also embraced the spirit of the season. This past weekend, the Halloween on Tolman nonprofit opened its doors. This community initiative raises funds to support residents in need during these challenging times. Visitors are encouraged to contribute a suggested donation of just $5 to explore a captivating array of displays featuring inflatable monsters and a brand-new Frankenstein photo area. To find out more about the family’s display and other festive attractions, follow their journey on their Facebook page.
Not only are traditional decorations being showcased, but there is also a fun twist in the theme. Many might be aware that the iconic plastic flamingo was invented in nearby Leominster, but few know there’s a spooky cousin to this backyard fixture. You can pick up a zombie lawn ornament among other Halloween-themed goods at Main Street Gift & Cafe, a perfect spot to grab a few last-minute decorations or treats.
Celebrating the community’s togetherness, Descarreaux invites everyone to stop by and experience the delight and spookiness at her home. Since moving in back in 2016, she and her family have worked tirelessly to craft a playful yet creepy Halloween extravaganza. Visitors are welcome anytime to snap photos in front of the haunted abode, where the spirit of Halloween runs rampant.
“Halloween is a time for fun and bringing the community together,” said Descarreaux. “We love seeing families enjoy the decorations and celebrating the season.”
