Winter Wonderland on Warren Place
As I strolled down Warren Place in Montclair, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of wonder and magic in the air. The street was transformed into a winter wonderland, with nearly two dozen 20-foot inflatable snowmen lining the block. It was a sight to behold, especially when viewed from overhead, where the nearly unbroken chain of giant holiday decorations stretched down the block, lighting up the night horizon.
Giant snowmen bring joy to Warren Place
The idea behind this festive display was sparked by Ann McCarthy, a local realtor and longtime resident of Warren Place. She decided to buy one of the towering inflatables earlier this month as a way of getting into the holiday spirit. When she shared the idea with her neighbor, it didn’t take long for the idea to spread, and soon 14 inflatables had been erected on Warren Place.

The effort has now spread to other streets nearby, including Harrison Avenue and Orange Road. It’s a heartwarming display of community spirit and holiday cheer. As local resident Amelie Tseng put it, “Finding holiday cheer and joy of the season in unexpected places… This put a smile on my face!”
The snowmen shine bright at night
As I walked along the street, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of joy and wonder. It’s a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always something to be celebrated and cherished. The people of Warren Place have truly outdone themselves, and I can only imagine the smiles on the faces of those who get to experience this winter wonderland firsthand.
